Job description

Lead a team and shape the member experience

Kansas City Credit Union is looking for a Branch Manager who enjoys developing people, building relationships, and running a dependable branch. You will coach the member service team, help members find practical financial solutions, and work closely with the senior leadership team to improve how we serve our community.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity at a local, member-owned credit union. We welcome experienced branch managers and strong assistant managers or team leaders ready for their next step.

Why join Kansas City Credit Union

See the impact of your leadership. Build a team whose confidence, service, and follow-through make a difference in members' daily lives.

Work closely with leadership. Bring forward ideas, solve problems with the COO, and help turn service improvements into everyday practice.

Help shape our next chapter. Contribute to improvements in branch service and help members use convenient digital and self-service options.

Represent a recognized local credit union. In 2025, Kansas City Credit Union was voted one of the top three credit unions in Kansas City by The Kansas City Star.

What you will do

Lead and develop the branch team through regular coaching, training, performance feedback, and clear expectations. Support hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and staff accountability.

Set the standard for welcoming, accurate service. Resolve escalated concerns with sound judgment and ensure members receive timely follow-up.

Build member relationships through thoughtful conversations about financial needs. Coach staff on appropriate product recommendations, referrals, and follow-through.

Partner with Consumer Loan Specialists and centralized underwriting to connect members with borrowing options and keep requests moving through the appropriate process.

Manage daily branch operations, including opening and closing, staffing coverage, cash and vault controls, balancing, account documentation, and security procedures. Step in to assist members and staff when needed.

Maintain required approvals, dual controls, and separation of duties. Protect confidential information, recognize fraud concerns, and promptly **escalate** unusual activity through established channels.

Reinforce compliance with branch procedures and applicable requirements, including member identification, privacy, and Bank Secrecy Act responsibilities. Support audits and complete corrective actions.

Track service, referral, growth, and operational results. Use member feedback and performance trends to improve the branch and build community relationships.

What you bring

At least three years of relevant banking or credit union experience, including at least one year in a supervisory, assistant manager, or team lead role, or an equivalent combination demonstrating readiness to lead a branch.

Experience coaching employees, handling member or customer concerns, and holding a team accountable with fairness and consistency.

Working knowledge of deposit accounts, teller operations, cash controls, account opening, and branch security and compliance practices.

A record of building relationships and identifying appropriate financial solutions while protecting the member's interests.

Clear communication, strong organization, attention to detail, and the judgment to resolve issues within your authority and elevate when needed.

Comfort learning technology and helping others use core banking systems, digital banking, and self-service tools.

High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant experience is valued; a college degree is not required.

Experience that is a plus

Credit union or community banking experience; familiarity with CU*BASE or CBX; experience improving branch processes, supporting staff development, or building relationships with local employers and community organizations.

Benefits and professional development
  • We offer health insurance, retirement plan benefits, and paid time off, subject to plan terms and eligibility.

You will also have opportunities to develop your leadership skills and contribute ideas that improve how the credit union serves members.
