Job summary

Columbia Bank is seeking a Branch/Assistant Branch Manager to partner with the Branch Manager in delivering operational excellence at the Morro Street location in San Luis Obispo. You’ll supervise tellers, process transactions, and guide clients to suitable banking products while driving sales in a community-focused environment.

You’ll lead a team with strong emphasis on client service, accurate handling of daily banking tasks, and compliance with SAFE Act mortgage lending requirements for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s, Vocational, or Technical Degree in banking, business, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
• 2 years of retail banking experience required.
• 1 year of management or supervisory experience preferred.
• 1 year of consumer and small business lending origination experience preferred.
• Customer service background in retail or banking.
• Demonstrated ability to grow sales by developing long-lasting, knowledge-based relationships with clients and offering customized solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership skills such as handling difficult customer and associate conversations in a professional, transparent, and courteous manner.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively.
• Proficient use of spreadsheets and other banking computer systems and related software, and ability to operate a variety of office equipment and to perform repetitive movements for tasks such as counting cash, typing, and handling documents.
• This position requires you to act as a Bank MLO per SAFE Act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Branch Manager to meet branch and Bank goals.
• Supervise and lead Tellers; back up personal banking team for opening new accounts and loan requests.
• Process transactions and place clients in appropriate accounts and loan products; cross-sell services.
• Monitor sales and service goals; coach team to deepen customer relationships.
• Develop and maintain relationships with consumers and local businesses; provide Breakthrough Client Service.
• Oversee branch opening/closing, overdraft monitoring, wire transfers, collections and branch controls.
