Job summary

Mutual Materials in Vancouver, WA is seeking a friendly, customer-focused team member to support contractors and walk-in customers. You will process sales orders, enter data, update displays, stock literature, and handle cash/credit transactions.

You’ll also assist with phone/in-person inquiries, routing calls, and clerical tasks, with some outdoor warehouse work and periodic weekend shifts. Training is provided by experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced branch team.
• Familiarity with computers and strong mathematical skills.
• Experience in the building materials industry preferred.
• Forklift experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to contractors and walk-in customers.
• Process sales orders, data entry, update displays and stock literature.
• Handle cash/credit sales transactions and telephone sales support.
• Answer questions, take orders, give directions, route calls and take messages.
• Assist with filing, mail sorting, and clerical tasks.
• Work outdoors in the warehouse, participate in inventory, and support showroom upkeep.
• Occasionally work weekends as needed.

Sales support duties include preparation of sales orders, data entry, updating displays and stocking literature, re-ordering and stocking showroom products, and handling cash/credit sales transactions. Telephone sales support includes answering customer questions, taking orders, giving directions, call routing and message taking. Clerical responsibilities include filing, preparing, and sorting mail.
