Job description

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to shape and bend metal materials into precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality products. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that all parts are fabricated according to the required dimensions, quality standards, and production schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, shape, and form metal according to technical drawings and specifications. Ensure the machine is properly calibrated and adjusted for each job.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders to determine machine settings, material specifications, and sequence of operations.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload metal sheets or coils onto the press brake machine. Ensure materials are properly aligned and secured before operation to avoid defects or errors in production.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and quality. Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.) to ensure all products meet specified tolerances and standards.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on press brake machines to ensure they are operating efficiently. Report any equipment malfunctions or needed repairs to maintenance teams.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures and practices, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring the safe operation of equipment. Identify and report any potential safety hazards.
  • Production Efficiency: Maintain production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders. Minimize machine downtime by troubleshooting issues quickly and accurately.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including machine operators, supervisors, and quality control staff, to ensure smooth production processes and high-quality outcomes.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of production runs, including material usage, setup parameters, and any machine issues. Report progress and any deviations from production schedules to supervisors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, improve machine efficiency, and reduce waste.
