Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd Clinic seeks a pharmacist to interpret, dispense and monitor medications to support patient care. The role focuses on optimizing drug therapy and ensuring access to vaccines and immunizations while collaborating with physicians and staff.

Education requires BS or PharmD; Minnesota or Wisconsin licensure is required. New hires must obtain licensure within 90 days, plus BLS and Immunization Delivery Certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the ACPE (BS or PharmD).
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the state boards (Minnesota or Wisconsin).
• New hires must obtain licensure within 90 days of hire; ongoing CE and license renewal as required.
• BLS certification within one week of hire; Immunization Delivery Certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, dispense and monitor medications to provide quality pharmaceutical services.
• Optimize drug therapy to improve patient outcomes and provide vaccines/immunizations.
• Participate in daily department activities, including training of staff and students; supervise technicians and interns.
• Handle inventory, billing, record keeping, audits, and cash handling as assigned by department leadership.

Job description

Building Location: Brainerd Clinic Department: 4025430 PHARMACY FLOAT POOL - BSC Job Description: This position performs all duties associated with interpretation, dispensing and monitoring of medications to provide quality pharmaceutical services to patients, physicians and other health care professionals. The pharmacist will optimize drug therapy to improve the patient's quality of life and health outcomes, while providing access to medications and immunizations. The pharmacist will also participate in clinical initiatives and assist in all aspects of the daily pharmacy department activities, including training of new staff and pharmacy students, supervision of pharmacy technicians and interns, resolution of customer service issues, billing, record keeping, monthly audits, and other functions necessary for optimal pharmacy performance. Job duties also include inventory control, care of supplies and equipment, and accurate cash handling, and other duties as assigned by the department leader.

Education Qualifications: Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (BS or PharmD degree required)

Licensure/Certification Qualifications: Certified / Licensed Requirement: Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy in the state in which they will be working (Minnesota, Wisconsin). If currently registered as a Pharmacist in another state, must be registered with the Board of Pharmacy in the state in which they will be working (Minnesota, Wisconsin) as a Pharmacist-Intern and actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist, obtaining licensure within 90 days of hire. New hires must obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.

Ongoing continuing education and license renewal as required by the state Board of Pharmacy.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certified within one week of hire.

Immunization Delivery Certification required at time of hire.
