Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a contract TVI specialist to support visually impaired learners in a Washington state setting. The role focuses on Braille instruction, adaptive strategies, and collaboration with educators to personalize learning.

Qualifications

• State licensure or certification to teach visually impaired students (TVI).
• Proficiency in Braille instruction and transcription.
• Experience working with students who are blind or have low vision.
• Ability to design and implement individualized instructional materials.
• Strong communication with staff and families.
• Adaptability and a student-centered approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction in Braille reading and writing to students with visual impairments.
• Assess students’ abilities and tailor educational materials accordingly.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lessons and ensure accessibility.
• Support the use of assistive technology and tactile learning tools.
• Complete required documentation, progress reports, and IEP goals.
• Serve as a resource for school staff regarding vision-related accommodations and modifications.
