Summary
Oxford Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Boys Tennis program. The Head Coach will be responsible for developing the skills and character of student-athletes, fostering a positive team environment, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tennis, coaching experience, and a commitment to the academic and athletic success of the players.
Responsibilities
- - Develop and implement training programs that enhance players' skills and performance.
- - Organize and conduct daily practices, ensuring a productive and engaging environment.
- - Prepare the team for competitions, including scheduling matches and coordinating travel arrangements.
- - Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance throughout the season.
- - Foster a culture of respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship among players.
- - Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team policies, schedules, and player development.
- - Collaborate with other coaches and athletic staff to support the overall goals of the athletic department.
- - Ensure compliance with all school and league rules and regulations.
- - Maintain accurate records of team performance, attendance, and other relevant statistics.
- - Promote the tennis program within the community to encourage participation and support.
Requirements
- - Previous coaching experience in tennis, preferably at the high school level.
- - Strong knowledge of tennis techniques, strategies, and rules.
- - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- - Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes to achieve their best.
- - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- - Commitment to the academic success and well-being of student-athletes.
- - Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- - A valid background check and adherence to all school district policies and procedures.
- - Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary for practices and competitions.
