Qualifications

• Previous experience playing or coaching tennis at the high school level or higher.
• Strong knowledge of tennis rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with student-athletes and their families.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the head coach and other staff members.
• A commitment to the academic and athletic development of student-athletes.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
• Availability for the entire duration of the tennis season, including practices, matches, and team events.
• A positive attitude and a passion for mentoring young athletes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
• Help organize and supervise team activities, including matches, tournaments, and team meetings.
• Provide individual and group instruction to players, emphasizing technique, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Monitor the academic and athletic progress of team members, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements and maintain a balance between sports and academics.
• Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and school administration regarding schedules, expectations, and any concerns that may arise.
• Assist in the development of game strategies and preparation for competitions.
• Help maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and ready for use.
• Promote a positive team culture that encourages teamwork, respect, and a love for the game.
• Attend coaching clinics and workshops as required to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
