Oxford Area High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead our Girls Lacrosse program as the Head Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong lacrosse background, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and competitive environment for student-athletes.

This full-time position requires planning, developing practices and game strategies, coordinating team travel, and collaborating with administration, parents, and staff to promote the program

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience coaching lacrosse at high school or collegiate level.
  • Strong knowledge of lacrosse rules and tactics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies to enhance team performance.
  • Organize and conduct team practices, workouts, and competitions.
  • Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship and personal growth.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor assistant coaches and support staff.
  • Collaborate with school administration, athletic department, and parents to promote the program.
  • Monitor and support student-athletes' academic progress and well-being.
  • Coordinate team travel, scheduling, and logistics for games and tournaments.
  • Manage equipment inventory and maintenance, ensuring safety standards.
  • Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
  • Promote the Girls Lacrosse program within the school and community.

Requirements

  • - Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level, particularly in lacrosse.

  • - Strong knowledge of lacrosse rules, strategies, and training techniques.

  • - Excellent communication, leadership, and motivational skills.

  • - Ability to build positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, and staff.

  • - Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.

  • - Current CPR/First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it prior to the start of the season.

  • - Availability to work evenings and weekends during the lacrosse season.

  • - A valid driver's license and the ability to travel for games and tournaments.
