Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a middle school assistant coach for the current season. The position focuses on developing student athletes, teaching fundamentals, and promoting academic and athletic excellence within a safe, supportive environment.

As per WIAA, applicants must be at least 19 for assistant roles and 21 for head coaching roles. Pay is based on the current Assistant Coach Salary schedule and set by the district.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience.
• Proven training and experience in drills, safety factors, and proper application of skills.

Responsibilities

• Professional Development and Leadership: stay current with sport knowledge and attend clinics/workshops.
• Responsibility for Rules and Regulations: read and understand WIAA, district, and league rules.
• Program Promotion: encourage student participation and promote the sport.
