Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Cross Country Assistant Coach for Evergreen Middle School. The role supports the head coach in developing student athletes, focusing on fundamental skills and whole-child development, including academics and leadership.

Requirements include at least 19 years old, WIAA rules knowledge, first aid/CPR, and the ability to supervise students during practices and contests. Schedule is 2:30-4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, at Evergreen Middle School.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior sport-specific playing and/or coaching experience in a secondary/post-secondary athletics program or related club coaching experience.
• Proven training and experience in presenting drills, safety factors, and proper application of skills.

Responsibilities

• Attend practices and contests daily as directed by the head coach.
• Study and reinforce rules and eligibility requirements per WIAA and district policies.
• Model safety and first aid procedures; oversee equipment and facilities.
• Promote the sport within the school and community; report scores to media and league sites.
