Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a part-time Box Truck Driver to support local pickups and deliveries in Indiana. You will drive the Salvation Army truck to collect donations, follow routing procedures, conduct vehicle inspections, and ensure safe handling of goods in a mission-driven setting.

Role emphasizes customer service toward donors, representation of the organization, adherence to DOT/OSHA regulations, and use of field apps.

Responsibilities

• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants/Drivers
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

Box Truck Driver - Local & Surrounding Areas

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Job Type: Part-time, Regular

Schedule: 18 hours per week, M-F, some weekends possible

What You'll Do

Transportation & Logistics

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
