Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Box Truck Driver for local routes across Fort Wayne and surrounding areas. This part-time position offers 18 hours per week with a $20.00 per hour pay and duties including route adherence and safe handling of donated goods.

You will represent The Salvation Army in donor interactions, perform vehicle inspections, and support operations with PPE and safety compliance. Experience with DOT/OSHA rules is valued.

Responsibilities

• Follow scheduled routing procedures efficiently
• Drive Salvation Army truck for pickups and deliveries
• Ensure security and safe handling of all goods and materials
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles
• Maintain equipment in excellent working order
• Comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
• Train and Certify New Production Assistants/Drivers
• Act as a personal representative of The Salvation Army
• Ensure all donors are treated courteously and respectfully
• Communicate donation acceptance policy with donors
• Report any pickup problems to dispatcher
• Maintain professional appearance per ARC dress code
• Use DSS program and assigned iPad apps effectively
• Support beneficiaries in work therapy goals through training and mentoring
• Handle loading and unloading of trucks as needed
• Wear all assigned PPE including gloves, masks, and back guard
• Report any safety or security concerns immediately

Schedule: 18 hours per week, M-F, some weekends possible

What You'll Do

Transportation & Logistics
