Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, at HOTEL PASEO, Autograph Collection in Palm Desert, seeks an Engineer to maintain hotel operations by addressing guest and associate maintenance requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring building systems function efficiently. The role supports a boutique luxury property with 150 guest rooms, spa, pool, and dining venues in a prime desert setting.

Ideal candidates have 3–4 years in general repair maintenance, can read drawings, and communicate effectively

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years previous experience in a general repair maintenance position.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to perform basic math.
• Able to use ladders and lift heavy items.
• Ability to use all general repair tools.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist, and stretch.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Repair and paint furniture and structures (cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and wallpaper).
• Check and make minor repairs on electrical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration controls, vacuum cleaners, hairdryers, lighting systems, televisions and phones.
• Check and make minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, valves, toilets, showers, sinks and cutting of keys as well as major repair of locks.
• Perform preventive maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation of work area along with personal hygiene.
• Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.
