Job summary

Hotel Paseo in Palm Desert, part of Autograph Collection by Marcus Hotels & Resorts, seeks an Engineer to maintain hotel operations by addressing maintenance requests promptly and performing preventive maintenance to ensure all building systems run efficiently.

Join a boutique luxury property with 150 rooms and resort-style amenities; you will handle repairs, read drawings, and work with guests and associates to uphold our high standards of service.

Qualifications

• 3 to 4 years previous experience in a general repair maintenance position.
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist, and stretch.
• Ability to read simple drawings and specifications.
• Able to use ladders and lift heavy items.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests and associates.

Responsibilities

• Repair and paint furniture and structures (cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows and wallpaper).
• Check and make minor repairs on electrical systems such as HVAC, refrigeration controls, vacuum cleaners, hairdryers, lighting systems, television sets and phones.
• Check and make minor repairs on plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, valves, toilets, showers, sinks and cutting of keys as well as major repair of locks.
• Performs preventive maintenance of plumbing and electrical systems according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Maintain all cleanliness and sanitation of work area along with personal hygiene.
• Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

What will you be doing?
