Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking Border Patrol Agent reemployed annuitants to protect America's borders. This position starts at a GS-12 salary of $91,985.00 and goes up to $119,583.00, with locality adjustments possible.

Qualifications

  • Specialized Experience in law enforcement or other responsible work that demonstrated the ability to make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce immigration or comparable laws, rules, and regulations, and to perform intelligence, prosecutions, investigations, and anti-smuggling tasks.
  • Language Requirement: Must be proficient in the Spanish language.

Responsibilities

  • Detect, question, and inspect individuals for immigration or customs violations near borders or entry points.
  • Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers, using surveillance and field procedures.
  • Patrol international boundaries and coastal areas using a variety of government assets, including vehicles and aircraft.
