U.S. Customs and Border Protection invites qualified individuals to join the Border Patrol as full-time Border Patrol Agents. The role offers entry to mid-level opportunities across GL-5 to GS-11 grade levels, with clear promotion potential and robust federal benefits.

Multiple duty locations nationwide and recruitment incentives are available to new hires. Base pay varies by grade, with additional incentives totaling up to $50,000 over the first years of service.

Formación

• One year of general work experience demonstrating the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations.
• A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A combination of general work experience and education may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and patrol methods.
• Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using various government assets to fulfill the USBP Mission.
