Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study from an accredited college or university.
• One year of general work experience OR combination of experience and education as a substitution for the GL-5/7/9/11 levels.
• Citizenship and residency requirements for Federal employment and law enforcement positions.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question people suspected of immigration and customs violations.
• Prevent unlawful entry by apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry.
• Perform farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrol the international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets.
