Job summary

Customs and Border Protection seeks Border Patrol Agents to join a large federal law enforcement team. The role includes screening individuals, enforcing immigration and customs laws, and patrolling borders with a range of assets.

New agents may receive recruitment incentives and ongoing career stability within CBP. Entry and mid-level positions are available with baser salaries reflecting GL-5 through GS-11 grades, plus comprehensive benefits and the Thrift Savings Plan.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law.
• Familiarity with use-of-force policy and firearms.
• Ability to analyze information and make quick, sound decisions.
• Experience or training related to law enforcement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violations.
• Apprehend and deter unlawful entrants and smugglers near borders.
• Perform checks of surveillance and environment during operations.
• patrol borders using a variety of assets for mission success.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
