Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or education substitution as described (for GL-5)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent to meet GL-5/7/9/11 criteria
• Combination of experience and education considered for higher grades (GL-9/GS-11)

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents and possessions
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using surveillance
• Interpreting tracks, marks and physical evidence of illegal entry or contraband
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets for CBP missions

Education

Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree
