Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPA) in multiple entry and mid-level career grades. The role involves detecting and questioning individuals, preventing illegal entry near borders, and patrolling diverse locations with various assets.

Federal employment benefits, base pay, and potential incentives accompany the position. Salary ranges from $51,632 to $124,717 annually, with recruitment incentives up to $20,000 and retention incentives up to $30,000 distributed

Qualifications

• Experience: One year of general work experience or education in related field.
• Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience and college education submitted with your application.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance and night-vision equipment.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using government assets to fulfill the USBP mission.
