Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is hiring Border Patrol Agents (BPAs). Roles span entry to mid-level levels with base pay and federal benefits. Incentives up to $30,000 plus an additional $20,000 recruitment incentive may apply by location and offer.

BPAs protect U.S. borders, perform inspections, surveillance, and enforcement duties, and may receive placement across multiple duty locations with safety and career stability.

Qualifications

• One year of general work experience or a bachelor’s degree substitute.
• Ability to learn regulations and apply safety procedures in law enforcement.
• Ability to gather concise information through questioning and observation.

Responsibilities

• Detect individuals suspected of immigration violations and inspect documents.
• Prevent and apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret tracks and evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Patrol borders using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other assets.
