Job summary

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is inviting qualified candidates for Border Patrol Agent positions. BPAs serve in a federally regulated law enforcement role with strong career stability and comprehensive benefits.

The selection includes incentives, opportunities across multiple duty locations, and progression through GL-5 to GS-12 grades as you gain experience. Training at the Border Patrol Academy is provided.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of immigration and nationality law.
• Familiarity with use of force policy and firearm safety.
• Understanding of criminal law and procedure for enforcement.
• Ability to apply physical techniques and restraint safely.

Responsibilities

• Detect and apprehend individuals violating immigration or customs laws.
• Maintain vigilance and surveillance near borders and facilities.
• Inspect documents and evidence to determine admissibility or violations.
• Perform searches and traffic, farm, and patrol checks as assigned.
• Patrol international boundaries and coastal waterways using multiple assets.
