Job summary

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seeks Border Patrol Agents (BPAs) to serve across the United States. CBP offers competitive base pay for multiple grades, strong federal benefits, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• One year of general work experience or equivalent education may qualify.
• Combination of experience and education considered for higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Detect and question individuals suspected of violating immigration or customs laws.
• Apprehend undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders.
• Interpret evidence and perform checks of vehicles, residences, and transportation.
• Patrol borders using various assets for mission accomplishment.
• Engage in surveillance using available tools and methods.
