Qualifications

• Experience: one year of general work experience demonstrating ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and stay calm in stressful situations.
• Education Substitution: a bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course leading to a bachelor's degree.
• Combination of Experience and Education: combination of work experience and college education submitted with the application.

Responsibilities

• Detecting and questioning individuals suspected of immigration or customs violations and inspecting documents to determine eligibility or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending noncitizens and smugglers at or near borders using various assets and night-vision tools.
• Interpreting tracks and physical evidence of illegal entry; performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks.
• Patrolling international boundaries and coastal waterways using vehicles, horses, vessels, and other equipment to support the USBP mission.
