Qualifikationen

• One year of general work experience demonstrating leadership, sound decision-making, and composure in stressful situations.
• Bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A combination of general work experience AND college education may satisfy the requirements.
• Education substitution and advanced qualifications for higher grades are described in detail for GL-7/GS-11 levels.

Aufgaben

• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and customs laws and inspecting documents to determine citizenship or violations.
• Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers near borders using surveillance.
• Interpreting tracks, marks, and other evidence of illegal entry or contraband.
• Performing farm, building, traffic, city, and transportation checks and patrols.
• Patrolling borders and coastal waterways using various government assets to fulfill CBP missions.
