Job summary

Stratton Mountain Resort is seeking a skilled Boot Fitter to assess and improve boot fit for skiers and snowboarders. The role focuses on selling boots, custom footbeds, and performing boot modifications to boost comfort and performance on the slopes. Seasonal full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

The position requires knowledge of ski footwear, strong customer service, and the ability to operate a POS system in a fast-paced retail environment at Stratton Mountain Resort.

Qualifications

• Previous ski/snowboard industry experience preferred.
• Boot fitting experience preferred.
• Customer service skills required.
• Strong computer literacy is required.
• Self-motivated with good communication and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assess skiers' alignment and foot function to determine boot fit accuracy.
• Provide expert boot fitting and modifications to improve comfort and performance.
• Sell boots, footbeds, and related hardgoods and accessories.
• Operate POS system and handle cash accurately.
• Contribute to a high level of guest service and store operations.

Position Summary

The Boot Fitter understands the properties of ski equipment and is proficiently knowledgeable at evaluating the fitting of ski boots. This role focuses on selling ski boots, custom and cut-to-fit footbeds, and performing boot modifications to improve comfort and performance for skiing and other athletic footwear. The position also supports sales of related hardgoods, including skis, snowshoes, ski bags, and accessories. There are seasonal full time and part time opportunities available. This role is compensated at $21.00/hr.

Recruitment for this role will be ongoing through December.

Essential Duties

• Assess skiers or riders' alignment through visual evaluation and physiological methods


• Access skiers current and future ski ability through conversation to determine best product fit


• Analyze basic foot functions relative to boot shape kinesiology and stance


• Understand techniques for boot modifications, stance alignment protocols


• Ability to present educational discussions on biomechanics


• Demonstrate modifications to buyers


• Fabrication of custom foot beds


• Operate point of sale system and follow all cash handling procedures


• Additional daily store duties.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements

• Previous experience in the ski/snowboard industry, preferred


• Previous boot fitting experience, preferred


• Customer service skills


• Strong computer literacy


• Self-motivated


• Strong communication, and organizational skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be required to work weekends and holidays.
