Job summary

Sturtevant's is seeking a year-round full-time Boot Fitter to help guests find the perfect ski and snowboard boots and provide top-quality service. You will assist with boot selection, fit, and customization while meeting sales targets and maintaining store standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and a passion for the mountain lifestyle. Prior boot fitting experience is a plus, and an active, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service skills and friendly demeanor.
• Ski/snowboard background preferred; boot fitting experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills; fluent in English, with good written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide bootfitting services and boot customization/modifications.
• Assist guests with boot selection and purchases.
• Stay current on ski industry products and trends; share knowledge with guests.
• Maintain store cleanliness and merchandising of hard goods.

Summary Description

This position is primarily responsible for the proper fitting of ski and snowboard boots, the sale of ski / snowboard equipment and assisting with inventory control.

Essential Functions

• Determine guest needs and provide exceptional bootfitting services, including:
  • Boot selection and purchase
  • Boot customizations / modifications
  • Building of custom foot beds and liners
• Develop successful sales techniques and provide exceptional customer service
• Remain current on ski industry products and trends to share knowledge with guests
• Adhere to safety procedures regarding use of tools and equipment
• Maintain merchandising of hard good product lines and store cleanliness standards
• Demonstrate the desire to succeed and grow within the company
• Other duties as may be assigned

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Strong customer service skills
• Friendly, outgoing and comfortable working with people
• Ski/snowboard background preferred
• Prior boot fitting experience preferred
• Basic computer skills
• English fluency, written and verbal
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and regularly lift 50 pounds

The range is: $18-$20/hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
