Job summary

2nd & Charles in Matthews, NC is seeking a customer-focused associate to deliver outstanding service and assist customers with questions and purchases. You will handle cashiering, merchandise placement, and store upkeep in a fast-paced bookstore environment.

Key duties include greeting customers, promoting programs, stocking shelves, and supporting team efforts to provide an exceptional shopping experience. Prior retail or bookstore experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide exceptional service; assist with questions and orders; efficient cashiering.
• Sell products and participate in store programs (Magazine, Text 2 Mobile, Educator programs).
• Stock and merchandise products on the sales floor per guidelines.
• Maintain store cleanliness and reset displays as needed.
• Adhere to loss prevention standards and integrity in transactions.
• Support other departments as needed (receiving, inventory, fixtures).
