Job summary

The Morris College Bookstore, operated by Follett Higher Education, seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support a Market Leader in overseeing store operations, drive sales growth, and deliver brand and service excellence.

You will mentor teammates, manage schedules, train staff, handle cash and POS, maintain merchandising standards, and assist with opening/closing tasks. Availability to meet business needs is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent preferred.
• 0-5 years of retail or bookstore experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• General computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervises sales team activities and schedules hours.
• Trains new team members and seasonal staff.
• Ensures policies, procedures, and standards are followed.
• Maintains proper merchandising, promotions, and displays.
• Performs onboarding procedures for new hires.
• Greet customers, answer phones, resolve escalated issues.
• Handle cash, deposits, and POS transactions with accuracy.
• Stock shelves and manage store inventory per schedule.
• May assist with opening/closing and peak-period coverage.
• Support other store departments during peak times.
