Job summary

Books-A-Million in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a friendly Bookseller to deliver excellent customer service, assist shoppers, and perform cashiering duties. You will promote store programs and help keep the sales floor stocked and organized.

The role requires strong communication, multi-tasking, and basic computer/cash register skills. Physical duties include standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. Competitive retail environment with team-focused culture.

Qualifications

• 16 years of age or older
• Successful completion of all required background screenings

Responsibilities

• Greets customers, assists with questions and orders, and handles cashiering with high service.
• Promotes products and POS programs (Membership, Educator programs, etc.).
• Balances cash drawer after each shift per policy.
• Delivers and merchandises products on the sales floor per guidelines.
• Recovers the sales floor; shelves items and keeps the store tidy.
• Protects assets by following loss prevention standards and acting with integrity.
• Performs other duties including stocking, receiving shipments, fixture maintenance, and inventory.
