Job summary

Chartwells Higher Ed at California State University, Monterey Bay is seeking a Bookkeeping Intern to support the finance team with daily accounting tasks and hands-on experience in bookkeeping, financial reporting, and business operations.

You will perform data entry, assist with accounts payable and receivable, organize records, help with bank reconciliations, prepare Excel reports, support month-end close, and assist payroll documentation. This is a paid internship with no PTO or benefits.

Qualifications

• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Willingness to learn and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Assist data entry of financial transactions.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Organize and maintain financial records.
• Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Support month-end closing activities.
• Assist with payroll documentation as needed.
• Complete general administrative and special project assignments.
