Job summary

Shining Star Consulting in California is seeking an experienced non-profit bookkeeper to join our fully remote team. You will handle journal entries, fund accounting, A/P, updating financial statements, and transaction reconciliations for a growing base of nonprofit clients.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of bookkeeping/accounting, 1+ year nonprofit experience, and proficiency in QuickBooks or Xero plus Excel/Sheets. Flexible hours with strong client communication are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

If you are experienced in non-profit bookkeeping/accounting, and if you are looking for the perfect blend of stable work and flexible hours, this is the job for you! We are seeking someone whose resume demonstrates theirexperience in nonprofit bookkeeping/accounting to provide a range of bookkeeping duties, including journal entries, fund accounting, A/P, updating financial statements, and reconciling transactions.The pay rate is $30.00 - $45.00 /hour, depending on your experience.

This isnot a temp job. We provide outsourced accounting services to a growing client base of over sixty nonprofit organizations in California. We are hiring for both part-time and full time opportunities. These are fully remote positions,and work days/times are flexible. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively and proactively with clients, both via phone, Zoom, and in writing.

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years bookkeeping/accounting experience, demonstrating solid understanding of accounting practices and relevant regulations.
• At least 1 year non-profit accounting(mandatory)
• Experienced with accountingsoftware such as QuickBooks (preferred) or Xero
• Skilled and adept in Excel or Google Sheets
• Detail oriented
• Quick learner
• Effective communicator via phone, video, and in writing
• Comfortable working independently in a virtual office, and
• Proactive in asking questions and asking for help when needed.
