Artemis Solutions in Lexington, VA, seeks an experienced Bookkeeper or Accounting Specialist to support our Client Accounting Services team. This role offers growth into leadership within six months and a clear path into management.

You will handle diverse client work with a collaborative team. Ideal candidates have 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, are proficient in QuickBooks and Sage, and comfortable with payroll, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks, Sage and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of double-entry accounting, payroll, A/P, A/R, and reconciliations
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Proactive, self-starting, and able to work with clients in a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly bookkeeping and financial reporting
• Prepare and maintain accurate trial balances
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Process payroll, payroll tax filings, and 1099s
• Maintain organized client records and documentation
• Work within QuickBooks, Sage, and other accounting platforms
• Partner with clients to keep their finances organized
• Collaborate with bookkeeping team and firm partners to deliver excellent service
