Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver precise bookkeeping, payroll processing, and strong client service in our Texas-area office. You will post transactions, balance accounts, and analyze financial statements to support client needs.

Strong Xero skills and up-to-date bookkeeping certifications are preferred. The role emphasizes confidentiality, organization, and the ability to grow client relationships within a franchise network.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and GAAP.
• Certifications from National Bookkeeping Association or ability to obtain them.
• Ability to interpret policies and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
