Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to perform daily bookkeeping, payroll processing, and client support in Woodruff, SC. You will post transactions, balance accounts, prepare payroll, and generate tax statements for clients.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience, familiarity with GAAP, and certification pathways through the National Bookkeeping Association. Xero experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications are required or obtainable.
• 1–3 years of bookkeeping experience and GAAP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Generate and analyze financial statements for clients.
• Prepare and process payroll for clients.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and growth opportunities.
