Job summary

H&R Block in Fountain Inn, SC is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service, supporting the firm’s goal to provide help and inspire confidence in clients and communities.

You will post transactions, reconcile accounts, generate financial statements, process payroll, prepare tax forms, and communicate with clients and vendors. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and knowledge of GAAP are essential; Xero experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures.
• Ability to interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Analytical skills and an eye for details.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
