Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate would have experience in the retail fashion industry. This role combines bookkeeping accuracy with a particular emphasis on seasonal planning, and multi-channel sales (POS + e-commerce). Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP, and MS Excel.

• Record and categorize all financial transactions (sales, purchases, expenses)
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable - vendor bills for inventory, logistics, and overhead
• Handle accounts receivable, refunds, chargebacks, and customer credits
• Reconcile credit card, sales platform settlements, and maintain the general ledger
• Process employee expense reimbursements and petty cash
• Maintain organized digital and physical financial records
• Record and reconcile daily transactions across sales channels (POS, Shopify, online marketplaces) and payment processors, and in-store cash handling
• Manage month-end and year-end closing with retail-specific adjustments
• Process invoices for merchandise vendors, suppliers, and service providers; ensure accurate coding to buying, inventory, and operational cost centers.
• Reconcile vendor statements, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payments to maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Prepare daily and weekly, accounting and sales performance reports.
• Reconcile store deposits, credit-card batches, and e-commerce payouts.
• Assist with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and general ledger maintenance.
• Work closely with the buying, retail operations, warehouse, and management teams to resolve discrepancies and support business needs.
• Contribute to improving efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, ideally in retail or consumer goods.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, POS systems, and inventory accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software, preferably SAP , and MS Excel.
