Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper for a hybrid role in Midtown Manhattan, NY. The position supports development and construction finance, reporting to CFO and Treasury Manager, with a strong emphasis on Acumatica accounting.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of bookkeeping experience, especially in construction or real estate, and can manage AP/AR, GL, and monthly close in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger activity.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books and financial records across development and construction projects.
• Support the Treasury Manager with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations.
• Process and reconcile transactions including AP, AR, and bank reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end close activities and general ledger maintenance.
• Support the CFO and accounting team with ad hoc reporting and financial projects as needed.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial activity within Acumatica.

Bookkeeper | New York, NY (Midtown) | Hybrid – Mon, Tue & Fri Onsite | Pay: $33–$40/hr | 3+ Month Temp

About the role

A well-established, vertically integrated affordable housing developer and operator is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to cover a leave of absence through Q1. This is a hybrid role working directly alongside the CFO and Treasury Manager within a 20-person accounting department. The right candidate has strong construction and/or real estate bookkeeping experience and is proficient in Acumatica.

What you'll actually do

• Maintain accurate books and financial records across development and construction projects
• Support the Treasury Manager with day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting operations

What we're looking for
