Job summary

Action Staffing Group is seeking an Assistant Production Manager to oversee the Irvington, NJ plant's daily operations, coordinating production, planning and manufacturing activities while upholding quality and safety standards. You will drive output, efficiency, and on-time shipping, and manage plant staff.

Ideal candidates have an engineering degree or equivalent, 3+ years in manufacturing with supervisory exposure, proficiency with ERP systems, and strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• Engineering degree highly desired.
• 3+ years experience in manufacturing environments, including supervisory experience.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to production facilities, including PPE requirements.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and process adherence.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members across departments.
• Proactive problem-solving abilities to address operational issues promptly and safely.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and run day-to-day operations
• Increase production, capacity and flexibility while maintaining current quality standards
• Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
• Hire, manage and develop plant staff
• Commit to plant safety procedures
• Assist in monitoring equipment performance, identifying maintenance needs, and liaising with maintenance teams for repairs or upgrades.
• Purchase needed production supplies.
• Support the implementation of process improvements aimed at enhancing productivity and safety within the production line.
