Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. The role focuses on evaluation, diagnosis, and management of hematologic malignancies and bone marrow transplant patients from pre- to long-term follow-up.

Experience in hematology/oncology, including CAR-T and cellular therapies, is preferred. Licensure in Alabama and BLS required; ACLS/PALS may be needed. Weekend and holiday work is included.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing with Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification or PA-C required.
• Experience in Hematology/Oncology including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cellular therapies (CAR-T).
• Alabama APN/PA licensure with BLS; ACLS/PALS may be required depending on unit.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive care plans for adults in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit.
• Order and interpret labs and imaging; coordinate referrals.
• Assist in transplant procedures and post-transplant care.
• Coordinate research protocols and advocate for patients.
• Educate patients and families; support clinical staff and orientation.
• Maintain safe, compliant care and participate in quality improvement.
