Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shift coverage in Birmingham, AL. You will provide nursing care using the nursing process to promote health and prevent illness, while coordinating with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, current Alabama RN licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification. Depending on the unit, ACLS/PALS may be needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license or eligible to be licensed as an RN in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS and/or PALS may be required depending on unit/department.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel patients in health promotion and disease prevention.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with data gathering and nursing judgment.
• Delegate, coordinate, and manage all aspects of nursing care for the patient, family, and community.
• Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, podiatrist, and/or dentist as needed.
• Deliver care in collaboration with the patient and health care team in a timely and cost-effective manner.
