Job summary

Michigan Medicine seeks skilled Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant professionals to join a high-acuity BMT/CT service. You will rotate between inpatient Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplantation and outpatient programs, providing direct patient care in collaboration with the BMT team.

Responsibilities include evaluating complex patients, performing procedures, and contributing to clinical trials. This role supports education for nursing staff and participates in CME activities; hybrid work

Qualifications

• Current specialty certification to practice as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Current specialty certification to practice as a FNP, AGPCNP, or ANP with 4 years inpatient BMT APP experience in the similar clinical environment.
• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
• Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner recognized by the NCSBN.
• Current DEA registration required.
• AHA Approved BLS
• AHA Approved ACLS
• 1–2 years expertise in the management of acutely ill patients at the APP level.
• BMT APP experience required; Heme-Onc or Hospitalist experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between BMT/CT inpatient and Outpatient Migration Program.
• Provide care and manage adult hematologic malignancies with BMT/CT focus.
• Perform history, exams, orders per CPG, admissions, discharges, and education.
• Recognize and treat sepsis, GVHD, CRS, IEC-EC, ICANS, cardiac issues, and cytopenias.
• Perform procedures like bone marrow aspiration/biopsy and lumbar puncture.
• Review labs/radiology and discuss results with team.
• Participate in clinical trials and patient consent.
• Facilitate transition of care between inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Attend CME activities and programmatic meetings.
