Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Hematology/Oncology Division for inpatient care of bone and marrow transplant patients. This full-time role reports to a supervising physician and involves rotating nights, weekends and holidays.

The ideal candidate will have completion of an accredited PA or APRN program and current licensure or eligibility, with preferred cellular therapy experience and a commitment to evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and licensed or eligible as PA.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed or eligible as APRN.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• DHEC and DEA license applications must be started prior to first day.
• APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by policy.

Responsibilities

• Takes comprehensive history and performs physical examinations.
• Evaluates and treats based on history, physical exam, tests and guidelines.
• Performs bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.
• Initiates referrals to other health care providers and collaborates with attending physician.
• Documents and bills for direct care provided.
• Precepts NP and PA students and participates in education activities.
