Job summary

Amgen is seeking a District Sales Manager to lead sales efforts across Kansas City, Columbia, Independence, Springfield, and surrounding markets. You will provide clinical knowledge of Amgen medicines to medical professionals and guide district teams toward achieving sales and budget targets.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree and 2 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Master’s degree and 6 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or 8 years of Sales/Marketing experience.
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of Sales/Marketing experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
• High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Sales/Marketing experience AND 2 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams.

Responsibilities

• Track the progress of marketing messages and programs.
• Provide feedback to district teams on marketing, allocation and resources.
• Manage district teams to maximize performance and meet targets.
• Screen, interview, and hire candidates.
• Ensure compliance with training.
• Coach and counsel for development.
• Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments.
• Coordinate with district and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Finance, other units).
• Share best practices with reports and peers.
• Coordinate and participate in cluster teams.
• Lead district sales meetings to guide districts.
• Develop local Opinion Leader relationships.
