Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking an Associate Claim Counsel for its Bond & Specialty Insurance team. You will manage lower-severity claims, coordinate with outside counsel, and provide legal insight to underwriting colleagues to improve claim outcomes.

Role requires a Juris Doctor, bar license, and 1–5 years of relevant experience. Travel and staying current with CLE may be involved as part of the duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Valid driver’s license or access to transportation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze Bond & Specialty Claims of lower severity and complexity under supervision.
• Manage outside counsel relations and settlements within authority.
• Prepare management reports on loss development and financial exposure under guidance.
• Provide legal review and advice to underwriters on bond obligations and contracts.
