Job summary

Responsibilities

• Examine boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects for repair.
• Bolt or arc welds pressure vessel structures and parts using wrenches or welding equipment.
• Inspect vessels or components to locate defects in tubes, fittings, valves, and controls.
• Repair or replace defective pressure vessel parts using torches, jacks, or welding equipment.
• Attach rigging and signal crane operators to lift heavy sections into place.
• Lay out plate or sheet metal and mark bending lines using measuring tools.
• Install manholes, taps, valves, or feedwater connections in boiler drums.
• Study blueprints to determine locations and dimensions of parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
