Northwestern University in Evanston is seeking a Boiler Operator to operate and maintain high-pressure steam boilers safely. This role supports the department's mission by ensuring efficient operation and a commitment to safety and service excellence.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience in steam boiler operation, and strong mechanical skills. The position offers competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.
Operate and maintain the Central Utility Plant high‑pressure steam boilers and auxiliaries, in a safe and efficient manner, under the direct supervision of the shift operating engineer. The role will support the department’s mission and values by exhibiting inclusiveness, respect, initiative, collaboration, innovation, and accountability. The incumbent will strive to provide excellent service when performing job responsibilities and will practice safe work procedures, and follow safety rules at all times.

Position is part of a collective bargaining unit. Pay for this position will be $44.06 per hour. Rate is determined by collective bargaining agreement.
