Job summary

The Missouri Department of Corrections is seeking qualified candidates for a boiler maintenance role. The position requires 18 years or older and at least four years of on-the-job training in a trade, or completion of a relevant technical program or certification.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older with four or more years of on-the-job training in a trade area or completion of a relevant technical program or certification in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Repairs/maintains boilers and related equipment such as feed water pumps/circulating pumps/valves and regulators/steam and water lines
• Repairs/replaces steam and water lines, unions, regulators, strainers, steam traps, and related equipment; replaces seals and gaskets in a variety of power plant equipment
• Tests and monitors the water treatment system of boilers
• Maintains/repairs electrical and/or electronic components such as replacing parts in control panels, repairing broken wires and related work.
• Reads sketches and diagrams in performing maintenance and repair work
