Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a dedicated Utility Plant Operator 2 to monitor, adjust, and maintain boiler plant systems and auxiliary equipment at Clarks Summit State Hospital. The role ensures reliable steam and hot water service across the campus while operating independently and upholding safety standards.

You will work night shifts with a 40-hour week, participate in on-site operations, and support facility staff across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• One year of experience as Utility Plant Operator 1 or equivalent.
• One year of semi-skilled work experience in operation, maintenance, or repair of utility plant systems.
• Special requirement: active Class C motor vehicle license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the facility's central steam generating plant and related equipment to provide safe and reliable steam heat and hot water services.
• Monitor plant operations, perform maintenance and repairs, support utility plant staff, and respond to changing operational needs across all shifts.
• Lead lower-level staff, perform general maintenance activities, operate emergency generators, and assist with additional facility operations as needed.
